Obey Me and I will be your God… do all that I command, and good things will happen to you. Jeremiah 7:23; In everything present your requests and petitions with thanksgiving. Phil. 4:6-7

This verse had a greater impact for all of us in YWAM Koivumäki when we continued to run our Discipleship Training School as scheduled on 19 January 2019 even though we only have one student.

When this student arrived, she told us that this is the first time that she will be away from her home country, Israel for 6 months. She said that she felt so at home upon arriving in Koivumäki. She felt peace and heard the Lord assuring her that she in the right place.

During the Wednesday Open meeting on the second week of the school, a man whom we have never seen in our open meetings came and at the end of the teaching decided to give his life to the Lord. We were also reminded with what Jesus said that the shepherd left the 99 sheep to go and find for one sheep that was lost.

YWAM Koivumäki team were able to serve in two churches in Kokkola. One of the staff said that this was a great encouragement for her because after living in Finland for more than a decade, this is her first time to preach/teach in Kokkola, especially in a Swedish speaking church. We are humbled to see what the Lord is doing in that part of Finland. The people that the team met were hungry for more of God.

YWAM Koivumäki team have witnessed the Lord moving in the lives of the people in the places where they were invited to share the Word of the Lord, pray and encourage the Body of Christ. They also noticed the hunger and thirst of many believers in every place where they were given the opportunity to share God’s message. However, there is a great need to continue to pray for the spirit of repentance to come to many people who are blinded by the devil to realize their need of Jesus and to be set free from the lies of the enemy.

There is a big need for discipleship for the new believers so that they will grow in their relationship with the Lord. Let us continue praying for the churches where these baby Christians are attending to be discipled so that they will walk in their callings and true identity in Christ.

We mentioned in our previous newsletters that one of the projects of YWAM Koivumäki is the toilets on the first floor of the main building to be repaired. As you can see, it is now repaired and what a big blessing it is. People who attended the Open Meetings and Seminars of Koivumäki were so glad that there are enough toilets to use.

YWAM Koivumäki Family is so thankful to the Lord for providing for moving in the hearts of people who gave generously towards the repair of the said toilets. We are also grateful for Juha Ravela for taking the project. May the Lord return a hundred folds to all of you.

The weekend seminar on Growing in the Prophetic part 1 was a great encouragement to all of us and also to Martin Reen who taught and served the participants who came from different parts of Finland. He said, “what a joy and a blessing to see followers of Jesus from different backgrounds and denominations encouraging and building each other by speaking out what the Lord is saying to the other person.

According to the participants, the atmosphere was so peaceful and God’s presence was so strong that it was easy for them to receive and participate in the activation activities. Some of them were so amazed and humbled at the same time because this was their first time to give prophetic words to other participants. 2Corinthians 14:3 says, when someone prophesies, he speaks to encourage people, to build them up, and to bring them comfort.

During the meal times, the participants continued discussing and sharing that they were touched, refreshed and renewed by the Lord not only from the teachings that they received but also during the worship time. They have their own encounter with the Lord as they focused on exalting and glorifying Him.

 Trip to Rwanda

Angelique, one of the members of the Base Team Leadership of YWAM Koivumäki went to her home country with a Finnish Dental Team for two weeks to serve in different places in Rwanda. This is what she said; It was a blessing to go on a mission trip to Rwanda for two weeks with a dental clinic team from Finland called ”Team Armas”. The Lord opened doors for us in two places in Rwanda: in Kinini Health Center located about 40 km from the capital city Kigali and also in Mission Save Our Souls Church in Gisenyi, Western province of Rwanda.

While giving dental care, the dentist also shared the Gospel to the patients. I remember a young mother of twins (11-year-old boy and girl), who brought her children to be checked and treated,

she was asked the following question” How do you think you will go the heaven”. The question seemed very heavy to her, she answered:” That’s a big problem ”. In her opinion, you need to work by doing good deeds in order to devise a way to go there.

We explained to her according to Eph 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faithand this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.

After hearing this she was so relieved and filled with joy. It was important for her to understand that she didn’t do anything to earn it, this is a gift from God. He gave His beloved Son to die for our sins so that we can be united with the Father. We prayed for her and her children to receive Jesus Christ in their hearts.

The trip to Rwanda was truly a blessing to us and to the locals. The team showed and shared the love of God by serving and praying for the locals. We were able to openly share our Faith to the locals. We give glory to our Lord Jesus Christ for the work He did in our hearts and in the hearts of the Rwandans during this short mission trip. We felt welcomed and appreciated and by the grace of God the team will again return to serve in Rwanda.

First, the Freedom Discipleship Training School/FDTS staff and student are going for a nine-week outreach in one of the states of America that suffered a lot from a devastating forest fire wherein thousands of residents were affected. Their houses and properties were destroyed by the fire. They need prayers to be able to do what the Lord has shown them to do while they are there and also for financial provision since that place where they are going to serve is not cheap. We also invite you to consider supporting the team by giving towards their financial needs and the work that they are going to do in those places where they will be serving people in need spiritually and materially.

Next, is the Crossroads Discipleship Training School will start on the 19th of April 2019. Prayers are needed also because a few of the accepted students were not given the visa that they needed in order to come to Finland. Let us pray that the Lord will send more students who should be in this school and all hindrances will be removed so that they can join in this school.

Furthermore, the second part of Growing in the Prophetic Seminar is on 19-21.04.2019. We would like to ask you to join us in praying for the right participants from different parts of Finland to come and also for the speakers to be able to teach and minister through the power and leading of the Holy Spirit.

Roy T. Bennet said, “Great things happen to those who don’t stop believing, trying, learning, and being grateful.” We are so thankful to the Lord for each of our supportive and generous partners. We want you to know how much we appreciate and value your partnership in the work that the Lord has given to us.

What a privilege to continue serving alongside all of you. It is a great encouragement and blessing for us to continue passionately love to serve and obey the Lord.

Grace, peace and abundant blessings to all of you in Christ’s Name!
