Whatever the Lord has created, He’s able to sustain, maintain and cause it to flourish. So don’t be afraid to entrust your future to the Lord because He has gone ahead to prepare the way. Tada said, faith isn’t the ability to believe long and far into the misty future. It’s simply taking God at His Word and taking the next step.

My Experiences in the Discipleship Training School

The first day when I arrived to Finland, I found out that I might be the only student in the class. I didn’t know what to do. Should I go back home? But I felt like I need to go and see what is happening in that place and then I can decide. I’m so thankful to God that He gave me the strength to go.
After the first 2 days God gave me so much peace that I’m in the right place. I felt so much at home, and I was around amazing people that love the Lord and serve Him. God gave me exactly what I needed for this time. I had amazing staff and I didn’t feel alone. Because I was the only student I got to spend more time with God which I may not have done if there would have been more students with me.

For the first 12 weeks I had really good teachers coming to teach me different topics every week from all over the world. We had the first two weeks of the outreach serving in Finland in different ways. Then we went to outreach to California for almost two months. I learned so much about God during these 6 months. I learned that the most important thing in this life is intimacy with God. When you have it you have everything!
I also learned how to hear God’s voice, how to recognize when He is speaking to me and to use it when making decisions or what I should do in diffirent situations. My faith has grown so much during these 6 months! I got to see how faithful God is and how He took care of us in the outreach and during all this time. I am so thankful to God for this time and for all the experiences I had. I can see that I have grown so much during this time and that it was the best time I ever had. Rachel Meron

After almost two months, the Freedom DTS Team returned to Finland with encouraging reports of what the Lord did in them and through them! They have experienced how the Lord provided for their food, accommodation, contacts, help and favor from people whom they have never met. One day, they were suppose to stay in the church where they were helping, a woman who was in the meeting told them that they can stay with her. In another place, they were provided a place to stay with a family who also provided food for them since they run out of money.

The team was given the opportunity to reach out to muslims. Two teenagers gave their lives to the Lord after they shared the Good News to them. In another situation, they prayed for a homeless man on the street, he was healed right after they prayed for him.

After arriving in Redding, California the team started seeking the Lord what they should do. Everyday, after worship and prayer time, the team go to the streets, parks and other public places to share the Good News and pray for people. They are amazed and encouraged at the way the Lord led and guided them to the right person/individual whom they should talk and pray for. They noticed how their faith grew and enable them to do the things thay they don’t normally do in Finland.

Another miracle that the team experienced happened in San Francisco. The man who should host them can’t be reached but the Lord led them to a Home Church who took them in and blessed them. They served in different ways, shared their testimony, led Bible study, prayed for people, and led worship during the church meetings. The team was so blown away with the way the Lord has provided for them, guided them and in the way they were able to share the Good News to different kinds people most specially to the Muslims and homeless people whom they met on the streets.

Weekend Seminar on Growing in the Prophetic part 2. What a surprise for us to see more than 40 participants who attended this seminar. It was a real encouragement for us to see people from different generations who are very hungry and willing to invest in their spiritual walk in order to grow and serve others using their God given gifts. Topi Kivimäki taught on the heart of the Father while Jon and Margot taught on what is the Father saying through the Holy Spirit about receiving prophetic revelations, what to do with the prophetic word received, how to respond to it and most especially their character.

Several of the participants said that they are so glad that they attended the seminar because they received confirmation from the Lord concerning the visions, dreams and prophecies they received in the past. They also said that they were refreshed, renewed, they received Biblically based teaching that will help them in using their gifts. Other said that they were given the opportunity to practice giving word of encouragement, word of wisdom and pray for others in a safe environment wherein the presence of the Lord enabled them to use what they are learning. Some who have issues with seeing the Father according to the Scriptures received prayers and encouragement by Topi and some of our mature staff.

What we have seen during the weekend seminar challenged us to continue helping these people to grow and be equipped so that they can continue grow and use their God-given gifts in serving in their churches and in different opportunities that the Lord will open for them. We also served a few of the participants who just came out of drug and alcohol addictions and newly born in the Family of God who desire to grow in their relationship with the Lord. We encouraged these people to attend our Wednesday Open meetings and also to consider doing a Discipleship Training Course so that they can really be rooted and grounded in God’s truth and love.

Wednesday Open Night Meetings

Wednesday Open Night Meetings in Koivumäki has been a big encouragement for us as a family and to the students in our Discipleship Training School because we are able to meet new people, listen to peoples’ stories, pray for people and get to know individuals who’ve been through many challenges, difficulties and victories in their own journey with the Lord.

An atheist woman who’ve never been to Koivumäki attended one of the Open Meetings, decided to surrender her life to the Lord after listening to the message of the speaker on that evening. She came to the meeting with mixed emotions and many questions but the Lord met her where she was at.

Two visitors who started attending our Wednesday Open Night Meetings also shared that they are so glad because the Lord has restored their passion, trust ,and love for God! They felt dry, tired and discouraged because they have been going through a lot in life.

Crossroads DTS 2019

This year, more than ten students were accepted to attend the Crossroads Discipleship Training School/CDTS however, due to Visa problems 8 students from outside of Finland were not able to join the school. The two students from Finland and one from Germany arrived in YWAM Koivumäki on the day the school started. They have been growing and serving together. On 28.07.2019, the students and staff are going to Israel for a two month outreach to serve and share the Love of God.

”Prayer makes a godly man, and puts within him the mind of Christ, the mind of humility, of self-surrender, of service, of pity, and of prayer. If we really pray, we will become more like God, or else we will quit praying.” – E.M. Bound

It is also God’s life-line to us.This is very true to each of us in YWAM Koivumäki. Everytime we come together as a family to worship, pray and thank the Lord, we experience the reality of prayer. This is one of the ways that the Lord showed us what we should do in times of challenges in different areas of our lives. God also spoke to us how to serve those who come to the Wednesday Open Night Meetings. Many times, the Lord have encouraged and strengthen each of us during our personal and corporate worship and intercession times.
